The California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) says the connector ramp from eastbound Interstate 80 to southbound Interstate 680 will be closed in the Cordelia area as part of an ongoing road rehabilitation and infrastructure improvement project.

The closure is scheduled to begin Friday, July 29 at 10 p.m. and lasts until Monday, August 1 at 5 a.m.

During the closure, CalTrans says motorists should continue on eastbound I-80 past the interchange, then exit at Chadbourne Road, make a left onto Chadbourne Road, continue on the road, then merge onto westbound Interstate 80. From westbound I-80, motorists will be able to exit and merge onto the southbound Interstate 680 connector ramp there.

In addition to the interchange closure, CalTrans says it will be closing the eastbound lanes of State Highway 12 in that area from Friday, July 29 at 10 p.m. until Saturday, July 23 at 8 a.m. During that closure, motorists will be asked to detour onto Red Top Road, then continue on to their destination.

Detour signs should be posted in areas of the closures.

CalTrans says the infrastructure improvement project is paid for in part through Senate Bill 1 funds.
