Dixon man dies in Fairfield motorcycle crash

A motorcycle rider from Dixon was killed Wednesday evening when his vehicle crashed into a tree in Fairfield.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. along Daniel Court, according to a press release issued by the police department on Thursday.

Police say a 42-year-old Dixon man was speeding in the neighborhood when he struck a curb and crashed his motorcycle into a tree.

The man, whose name was not released by police, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The police department's traffic division is investigating the matter, and a spokesperson said additional information would not be released.
