One person was taken to the hospital after an officer-involved shooting in Fairfield on Monday.
The shooting happened just before 2:30 p.m. along Central Way near Commerce Court.
Preliminary information learned by Solano NewsNet indicates officers were attempting to serve a warrant on a person when that person took off in a car. A short pursuit took place, with the chase ending in the parking lot of a business.
A police officer involved in the chase spotted a firearm and shot several times, striking the person at least once. The suspect, later identified as Robert Wilson of Fairfield, was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Several firearms, including a loaded gun, were recovered from the vehicle, according to a person familiar with the incident.
The parking lot was taped off as of 5 p.m. and the incident is still under investigation.
