Update, January 10: The California Highway Patrol has re-opened the road to traffic. The original story appears below...

The California Highway Patrol has shut down Highway 113 in both directions between Fry Road and the Highway 12 roundabout due to roadway flooding.

The closure was reported shortly after 12:45 p.m. by the CHP.

There is no estimated time of re-opening.

The closure is one of several impacting local roads in Solano County following a period of heavy overnight rain.

More than two inches of rain fell in Vacaville and on Travis Air Force Base during the 12-hour period starting at midnight, according to an interactive map published by the National Weather Service and reviewed by Solano NewsNet.

Nearly two inches of rain fell in the Winters area, while more than an inch of rain was reported in Vallejo, Benicia and near Rio Vista.

A flood watch remains in place for all of Solano County and much of the Sacramento Valley through Wednesday at 4 p.m.
