Firefighters contain blaze south of Travis Air Force Base

A one-alarm vegetation fire was quickly contained shortly after it
ignited south of Travis Air Force Base on Thursday.

The fire was reported around 11:30 a.m. along the 3500 block of Branscombe Road east of Fairfield.

A
responding fire crew reported a large plume of smoke that was visible
from Suisun City. When firefighters arrived, they found a quarter-acre
of grass on fire, with the blaze being held by a road and a fireguard.

The fire was knocked down around 11:45 a.m.
