Several adults and children were displaced after their apartment unit caught fire in Fairfield early Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported around 4 a.m. at an apartment building along the 1600 bock of Travion Court.
A two-alarm response was issued, bringing firefighters and ambulances from across Fairfield to the scene of the fire.
A fire department spokesperson said one person was taken to a local hospital with moderate burn injuries. The person is expected to recover, the agency said.
“Due to an aggressive fire attack, the fire was contained to the apartment of origin with minor damage to two adjoining apartments,” the fire department spokesperson said.
Nine residents, including three children, were displaced as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire was not known as of Wednesday morning.
