A broken water pipe flooded both sides of Interstate 80 in Vacaville on Monday.
The incident was located in the center divider of the freeway near the Alamo Drive off-ramp from westbound Interstate 80.
Water pooled on both sides of Interstate 80, causing a serious traffic disruption during the morning commute.
Standing water was also reported on the westbound off-ramp to Alamo Drive, creating slick road conditions that triggered a traffic warning to motorists exiting there.
Around 9:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said an engineer was headed to the scene to inspect the integrity of the freeway and off-ramp.
The issue impacted traffic throughout the day while construction crews cleaned up the freeway.
