Around 2,600 customers were without electrical service in Vacaville after a car crashed into a utility pole on Interstate 80 late Thursday evening.
The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. along the eastbound lanes of the freeway near the Orange Drive ramp to Interstate 505.
A solo vehicle went off the roadway, crashed into a utility pole and flipped onto its side. The crash caused the utility pole and several power lines to fall onto the car and the roadway, according to emergency dispatches.
One person was extricated from the vehicle. Their condition was unknown as of Thursday evening.
Power was shut off to nearly 2,600 Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) customers along portions of Nut Tree Road, Orange Drive, Vaca Valley Parkway and Leisure Town Road. Electrical service was restored around 11:30 p.m.
