Two-alarm fire ignites at Vacaville apartment complex

Dozens of residents have been displaced after a two-alarm fire ripped through an apartment building in Vacaville on Thursday.

The fire broke out around 120 p.m. at the Sycamore Apartments along the 900 block of Sara Court near Tulare Drive.

The blaze ignited in an upstairs unit within Building 16. Flames from
the fire quickly spread, causing destruction to a total of nine units,
according to a fire official.

A spokesperson for the American Red Cross said their organization
is providing assistance to residents who are impacted by the fire. One
firefighter sustained a minor, heat-related injury while battling the
blaze.

Vacaville Fire Department Chief Kris Concepcion told Solano NewsNet that the cause of the fire is not currently known, and the matter is under investigation.

Crews from Fairfield, Suisun City and Dixon assisted firefighters at
the scene of the blaze, while firefighters from Davis covered the city
of Vacaville for other emergencies.
