The California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) says it will close a stretch of Highway 37 in Vallejo for several nights in order to perform scheduled maintenance work.
The closure will impact the westbound lanes of the highway between Walnut Avenue in Vallejo and Sears Point in Sonoma County, starting Sunday, August 14.
The maintenance will take place between the hours of 8 p.m. and 4 a.m., CalTrans says, which will result in the full closure of westbound lanes of the highway during that time.
CalTrans says the closure is needed to repair pavement and shoulders on a six-mile stretch of the highway between Walnut Avenue and Skaggs Island Road.
The work is scheduled to end on Friday, August 19.
Traffic on eastbound Highway 37 will not be affected, nor will motorists see impacts on Highway 121 to eastbound or westbound Highway 37.
Detour:
Motorists who need to travel on westbound Highway 37 will be asked to detour to northbound Highway 29, then connect to westbound Highway 12. From there, drivers will take Highway 121 to connect to the westbound lanes of Highway 37.
Drivers are asked to plan for plenty of time to travel the detour route. For the latest road conditions, visit the CalTrans QuickMap by clicking or tapping here.
