Shooting in Vallejo leaves one dead, police investigating

The Vallejo Police Department says it is investigating an early evening homicide that fatally injured one person.

The shooting happened around 5:45 p.m. along the 2200 block of Sonoma Boulevard, the agency said in a press release.

Officers found a 44-year-old male suffering from at least one gunshot wound, the police department said. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where they later died.

Police only identified the person as a resident of Vallejo. No suspect information was available as of Thursday evening.

The shooting was the 14th confirmed homicide in Vallejo this year.
