Traffic Alert: Crash along Interstate 80 in Vallejo causing congestion

Traffic is congested along a major stretch of Interstate 80 in Vallejo due to a crash involving a big rig earlier this afternoon.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 near the Highway 37 connector ramp.

A big rig crashed in four other vehicles, according to information provided by the California Highway Patrol. At least four other vehicles were also involved in the crash, with the vehicles sustaining minor to moderate damage.

All lanes of eastbound Interstate 80 were blocked for about 45 minutes while emergency officials worked to clear the scene of the crash. One lane of the freeway was re-open to traffic around 3:45 p.m.

It was not clear if anyone was hurt in the crash.
