A body has been recovered from Lake Berryessa following an incident with a boat over the weekend, Solano NewsNet has learned.

The incident happened Friday around 5 p.m. when Napa County sheriff's deputies were called to the lake following an incident with a boat.

According to preliminary reports, a woman fell from a boat and into a narrow part of the lake.

Her body was recovered Saturday evening after searchers dove about 150 feet below the surface level. The identity of the woman has not been released. Police are not classifying the incident as a drowning.

The incident is the latest to involve a fatality at the waterway between Napa County and Solano County.

Last month, an 18-year-old man from Vallejo died in Lake Berryessa while he was visiting the area with friends. His death was preceded by that of a 16-year-old Fairfield softball player and a 35-year-old from San Pablo. All three victims drowned, according to police.

In total, 12 people have died at Lake Berryessa since 2020, according to information provided by local emergency officials. Police say the drownings are a stark reminder that people should not swim in unfamiliar water and should wear life vests at all times. Free life vests are available to use at many Solano County water destinations.
